Our Challenge
As a Senior Java Developer, Candidate will collaborate with stakeholders across the business to work on complex technical requirements. Candidate will be responsible for managing multiple engagements, prioritizing and resolving complex problems and escalating as necessary, in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $110k - $120K/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and implement Java applications to fulfill business requirements.
Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.
Integrate Java applications with existing mainframe systems and COBOL-based applications.
Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
Write and maintain technical documentation for applications and processes.
Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in Java development and mainframe technologies.
Requirements:
You are:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
8+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on Java.
Experience with mainframe technologies and COBOL programming.
Proficient in Java frameworks (e.g., Spring, Hibernate) and related technologies.
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
Familiarity with database technologies (e.g., SQL, Oracle) and ORM frameworks.
Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
It would be great if you also had:
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools.
Understanding of web services (REST/SOAP) and microservices architecture.
