Our client, a rapidly growing Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) based in Orange County, California, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Leasing Attorney to join their dynamic legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional with a strong background in commercial leasing, as well as experience in purchase and sale transactions and development work.
Responsibilities:
Leasing:
Draft, review, and negotiate commercial leases, amendments, and related documents.
Provide legal advice and support on leasing matters to internal stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to leasing activities.
Manage lease disputes and work with property management to resolve tenant issues.
Purchase and Sale:
Assist in the negotiation and drafting of purchase and sale agreements.
Conduct due diligence for property acquisitions and dispositions.
Coordinate with external counsel and other parties involved in transactions.
Development:
Provide legal support for real estate development projects.
Review and negotiate development agreements, construction contracts, and other related documents.
Advise on zoning, land use, and entitlement issues.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Active membership in the California State Bar.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant leasing experience in a law firm or in-house setting.
Strong knowledge of commercial real estate law, including leasing, purchase and sale, and development.
Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to legal work.
