We are seeking a Project Manager (with Product Management experience) to work on a 6 month project in San Antonio, TX. The project consists of 12 to 13 people business leaders, 35 project analysts and 60 associates within a retirement services division. You will be working with product owners and analysts, looking at cross product dependencies, and making sure that there are no duplicate efforts. You will be interacting with directors, senior business program managers, and the teams that support those products. Most products have quarterly plannong processes where initiatives are mapped out for the quarter. Two week sprints for the most part.
Financial services experience is preferrable, and retirement record keeping experience is a plus, such as working with EmPower or Fidelity. The position is onsite Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Under limited supervision, demonstrates in-depth knowledge and is an experienced sole contributor. Using a consultative approach, works closely with senior business leaders and stakeholders to determine and develop strategies and business plans that are aligned with our client's mission and objectives. Responsible for framing and leading highly complex business analysis at a strategic, cross-functional and/or enterprise level. Leverages a variety of methodologies to analyze complex business problems and demonstrates thought leadership and innovation, technology relevant experience, and business knowledge to ensure successful planning, executing and completion of these strategies. Provides project management and product support for projects and initiatives with significant scope (e.g., crossing departments or companies), complexity and ambiguity using a broad toolkit of analysis and project delivery methods.
Role Description
Leads and manages large / extra-large projects of varying complexity, impact, and type, utilizing a variety of methodologies and principles, accountable for business delivery.
Facilitates conversations with business partners to understand and recommend appropriate approach for solving business challenges.
Creates and manages project artifacts, communication plans, requirements gathering, deployment and implementation.
Performs process analysis and formulates recommendations.
Communicates roles and responsibilities and assigns tasks and activities to project team members. Provides project related mentoring to team members as needed.
Identifies issues, such as possible risks with downstream impacts, and determines adjustments to project team resources or timeline, as needed.
Monitors project progress against project plan and baselines to guard against scope creep and effectively manages the timeline and budget.
Executes multiple projects/initiatives and shifting business priorities.
May manage or support a backlog in a project, or for a product delivery team.
Leads and facilitates change management of key strategic initiatives utilizing tools and processes consistent with company methodology.
Supports the management of user group expectations; identifies major wins and influences support for recommended changes.
Provides thought leadership based on self-prepared or directed analytics (i.e., business benefit and realization, return on investment, business impact, risk).
Plans, manages, and leads business problem analysis, scope definition, and process analysis.
Analyzes information and requests ensuring scope, objective, and requirements are clear. Researches, gathers, assimilate and documents data for potential projects.
Provides innovative approaches to issues, helping to shape the business problem.
Consults with senior management, providing expert advice and guidance, influencing adoption of recommendations that impact business strategy decision, address gaps, address improvement opportunities, and impact priority/scope of project.
Participates in business management and planning
Advises business contacts on project management methods and project office capabilities.
Partners with key business areas on IT initiatives, translating development lifecycle and impacts.
Provides thought leadership and recommendations to assist the business in defining or refining business processes and leveraging technology.
Manages the development of a vision, strategy, and roadmap for an AFSG service channel with a focus on a specific domain or product area.
Discovers product opportunities for the service channels that are valuable, usable, and feasible.
Oversees activities around a specific product domain or program including planning, implementation, and ongoing monitoring.
Supports the development of an overall channel vision and strategy through online learning and research, and the ongoing development of subject matter expertise.
Effectively integrates across all functions to support the successful execution of the Service Delivery Model.
