The Sourcing Director will direct and oversee the procurement of material for the Retail & Distribution division. In this position, you will research pricing, trends, manage sourcing of supplies and inventory, develop relationships with suppliers, and negotiate price, terms, conditions, and shipping rates. The Sourcing Director will report directly to the Sr. Vice President of Sourcing.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the end-to-end sourcing operations as well as overseeing full sourcing process and decision-making between vendors, products, or services
Responsible for managing people/teams in multiple countries to follow through on execution needs for the business. Partner closely with the Design team, Sales, Inventory, Operations, planning process, and Quality Assurance
Minimizes cost to help optimize the value from each purchase
Prioritize purchasing initiatives while establishing policies and objectives that define the organization's sourcing strategies
Responsible for all resourcing of products to support the health and competitive landscape
Leads sourcing execution to ensure product availability across core product categories
Responsible for creating and maintaining all item set-up documents
Leads supplier negotiations to mitigate cost inflation
Ensure quality standards are established and controlled, including leading root cause/corrective actions when quality issues arise
Owns factory and supplier identification and validation of Direct Import suppliers
Manages RFQ (request for quote), and RFP (request for pricing) execution including ensuring the accuracy of cost models and business financial projections
Strategic supplier management, responsible for negotiating Costs and Supplier Terms, Lead Times, Rebates and Discounts
Set strategies related to vendor assessments and purchasing terms and conditions
Manage various projects and project schedules, ensuring key milestones and updates are being communicated to stakeholders
Create and maintain various reports to track shipments and vendor yield outputs
Provides leadership to business units to assist in the achievement of their goals and the overall corporate strategies/targets across assigned categories
Collaborates with the supply chain for resource allocation, budgetary control, and staff development and sets enterprise-wide sourcing plans to effectively assist in the attainment of the company's P&L
Must have the ability to travel internationally as needed with valid credentials and passport.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or business administration preferred
A minimum of 5 years of experience within areas of Global Sourcing, Supply Chain, or Category Management
Background in international sourcing
Ability to manage projects and establish clear goals to align with budget and timelines
Strong Negotiation skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Analytical, problem solving and financial modeling skills
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment while remaining organized
