Job Summary
The HR Generalist provides comprehensive support to the Human Resources department in key areas such as record management, payroll, compliance, safety and supporting employee engagement. This role plays a key part in facilitating efficient HR processes, addressing employee needs, and contributing to a positive workplace environment.
Payroll and Records Management
Process weekly payroll accurately and timely using ADP.
Maintain employee records, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Perform data entry in the HRIS (ADP) to keep information current and accurate.
Employee Support and Administration
Field employee questions regarding policies, procedures, payroll, and HR processes.
Respond to unemployment claims and provide required documentation to government agencies.
Track and manage employee leaves, including FMLA and other statutory requirements.
Monitor and track compliance with required employee training records.
Recruitment and Onboarding
Coordinate the selection process, prescreen and disposition candidates, coordinate interview schedules with candidates and hiring managers, generate offer letters, and maintain applicant flow records.
Conduct pre-hire screenings, including background checks and reference verifications.
Assist with onboarding processes, ensuring smooth transitions for new hires. Conduct orientations.
Ensure documentation completion such as I-9 compliance and creating records in the HRIS
Employee Relations and Compliance
Support investigations and disciplinary processes by gathering documentation and maintaining confidentiality. Record grievances; draft or approve corrective actions, act as a witness for management.
Process terminations ensuring procedures are followed.
Draft communications to employees. Ensure trust is built with employees through daily walks on the plant floor.
Safety
Develop, implement, and monitor safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
Collaborate with plant management to coordinate safety audits and inspections, identifying and mitigating risks.
Conduct accident investigations to identify root causes, develop corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.
Provide safety training and oversee proper incident reporting procedures.
Administrative Support
Assist the General Manager with travel arrangements, PowerPoint presentations, and scheduling.
Provide additional administrative support and perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth operations.
General Human Resources:
Assist with the development and implementation of HR processes and policies to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Contribute to building a culture of trust and collaboration. Success in this role requires a flexible, team-oriented mindset, with the ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed to support overall team and organizational goals.

Work Context & Physical Requirements
Location: Primarily onsite, office-based with limited occasional travel to other sites or for training as needed. The office is in an assembly facility and will require daily time on the plant floor as well.
Interactions: Frequent communication with employees, managers, and external agencies.
Pace and Scheduling: Requires managing time effectively to meet weekly payroll deadlines and other cyclical tasks.
Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for prolonged periods and ability to move about the plant floor.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
1-3 years of experience in an HR generalist or related role.
Experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar HRIS preferred.
