Financial Systems Manager (Oracle Cloud Planning - EPBCS)

Overview:
Are you skilled in developing and managing advanced financial solutions in collaboration with Finance and Accounting teams? Our Enterprise Technology division is seeking an experienced functional analyst with a strong technical background, a passion for solving business challenges through data and technology, and excellent teamwork abilities.
In this role, you will support, design, and enhance solutions within the Enterprise Planning and Reporting environment, catering to the needs of Finance, Accounting, and broader organizational goals. This position involves close collaboration with internal teams, external vendors, and partners, with a primary focus on financial systems and processes. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced setting, demonstrating initiative and a results-oriented mindset.
This role will lead financial systems activities across global locations and collaborate closely with a centralized data analytics team based in Boston, MA (USA). The position will also involve supporting the technical lead within the department and is based in our Boston office.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide guidance on global functional and technical requirements for designing and implementing budgeting, forecasting, and reporting solutions using Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) tools, including Oracle EPBCS, HFM, and Oracle Essbase.
Collaborate with consultants and functional teams to develop and maintain application code for EPM solutions, utilizing languages such as MDX, MaxL, Groovy, and other related technologies.
Oversee the assessment, approval, and deployment of changes in line with established change management protocols.
Investigate, resolve, and report on incidents affecting the service or system, ensuring timely resolution.
Work closely with managed service teams and internal peers to support platform/database operations and drive technical enhancements for ongoing projects.
Design and maintain BI reporting solutions for Finance and Accounting using Microsoft Power BI.
Perform root cause analysis to troubleshoot user challenges and manage relationships with software vendors and service providers.
Ensure compliance with regulations and internal lifecycle management processes, collaborating with Compliance, Internal Audit, and Quality Assurance teams as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proficient in analyzing, designing, and documenting complex functional and technical requirements, with the ability to translate business needs into actionable solutions.
Capable of leading technical teams in a matrixed environment, working independently and collaboratively to deliver high-quality results within set timelines.
Strong understanding of financial processes, including balance sheets, P&L accounting, journal entries, financial close cycles, and forecasting.
Knowledgeable in SQL data warehousing, operational data stores, and query development.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in distributed data systems.
Expertise in Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Data Relationship Management (DRM) is preferred.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as MDX, MaxL, and Groovy; familiarity with EPBCS and DRM is advantageous.
Experience with modern BI tools, including Power BI and Tableau, is a plus.
Familiarity with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow for incident and change management.
Superior skills in MS Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 6 years of experience with financial systems, particularly in life sciences or a comparable industry.
At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Planning (EPBCS) and scripting languages.
Experience with modern BI tools and analytics.
