We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and manage construction projects in the life science, healthcare, or commercial sectors throughout the Bay Area. This role requires a strong background in managing complex, technical projects, with a focus on delivering high-quality results on time and within budget. The Senior Project Manager will oversee all aspects of project execution, from preconstruction to closeout, while fostering strong client relationships and leading high-performing project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership:
Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of life science, healthcare, or commercial construction projects.
Manage the project lifecycle, including preconstruction planning, scheduling, and delivery.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
Planning and Execution:
Develop detailed project plans and schedules, ensuring alignment with client goals and timelines.
Coordinate with design and construction teams to address challenges and ensure seamless execution.
Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
Budget and Financial Oversight:
Establish and manage project budgets, ensuring adherence to financial goals.
Review and approve cost estimates, change orders, and financial forecasts.
Analyze project costs and identify opportunities for savings and efficiency.
Team Management:
Lead and mentor project teams, including project engineers, assistant project managers, and field staff.
Promote a collaborative and solutions-oriented work environment.
Conduct performance evaluations and support the professional development of team members.
Client and Stakeholder Relations:
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Provide regular project updates, addressing concerns promptly and professionally.
Lead project meetings, presentations, and stakeholder communications.
Quality Control and Safety:
Ensure all construction activities comply with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Enforce strict adherence to OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
Conduct site visits to monitor quality, safety, and overall progress.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction project management, with a focus on life science, healthcare, or commercial projects.
Proven track record of delivering complex, technical projects on time and within budget.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulatory standards.
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid) and scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with Bay Area building codes, permitting processes, and construction market dynamics.
