We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Superintendent to oversee field operations for complex life science, healthcare, and commercial construction projects in the Dallas, TX area. The Senior Superintendent will lead on-site construction teams, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires exceptional leadership, deep knowledge of technical construction practices, and a proven ability to manage large-scale projects in highly regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership:
Oversee all on-site construction activities, from initial mobilization to project closeout.
Develop and implement detailed site logistics plans, phasing strategies, and construction schedules tailored to life science, healthcare, or commercial facilities.
Coordinate daily activities of subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel to ensure seamless project execution.
Safety Management:
Enforce strict adherence to company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and project-specific safety requirements.
Conduct daily safety meetings and regular site inspections to maintain a safe work environment.
Investigate safety incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure all work meets project specifications, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
Conduct inspections and oversee testing of critical systems, including cleanrooms, HVAC systems, and specialized laboratory equipment.
Manage punch list and closeout activities to achieve a high-quality finished product.
Schedule and Workflow Management:
Develop and manage construction schedules, proactively identifying and mitigating potential delays.
Ensure coordination of all trades to avoid conflicts and maintain project milestones.
Lead weekly progress meetings with project teams and subcontractors.
Team Collaboration and Leadership:
Provide strong leadership to field teams, fostering a collaborative and solutions-focused work environment.
Mentor and develop site personnel, promoting professional growth and accountability.
Act as a liaison between the field team and project management to ensure alignment on objectives.
Client and Stakeholder Communication:
Serve as the primary on-site representative for clients, addressing questions, concerns, and changes as needed.
Maintain open and transparent communication with all stakeholders to ensure project success.
Provide regular updates to the project manager on progress, risks, and opportunities.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of construction experience, with at least 5 years in a superintendent role managing life science, healthcare, or commercial projects.
Proven experience overseeing complex technical facilities such as laboratories, hospitals, cleanrooms, and high-performance HVAC systems.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
Proficiency in construction management tools (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid) and scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
Exceptional leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with Dallas building codes, permitting processes, and construction market dynamics.
