Title: Project Specialist II/Senior Project Specialist I
Department: Biopharma Services
Location: South Plainfield, NJ
Responsibilities:
Project Specialist II;
Coordinate projects to completion from procurement to invoicing.
Perform basic data quality control and delivery to customers.
Closely troubleshoot with customers on unexpected issues that may occur.
Restructure resources and improve functions of current operations.
Help with training new employees on project management workflows, including project design, assessment, deliveries to ensure successful delivery of services.
Offer relevant scientific information for project design, and act as direct consultant for customers in making informed decisions during project progress.
Continue to improve standard workflows with proper tools for project management.
Collaborate within the group as well as cross departmental.
Comply with all CLIA/CAP regulations.
Any ad hoc tasks or assignments as needed.
Senior Project Specialist I;
Coordinate projects to completion including procurement, reporting, delivering, and billing alongside finance team.
Offer relevant scientific information for project design, troubleshooting, and act as direct consultant for customers in making informed decisions during project progress.
Act as subject matter expert for troubleshooting projects and maintain in-depth scientific knowledge.
Work alongside other department heads to reach common goal; represent department in meetings for potential long-term company collaboration/partnerships.
Work with Manager/Director to add/remove/improve NGS services and restructure resources/improve functions of current operations as needed.
Assist with training PM team members on all project design, assessment, deliveries to ensure successful delivery of services.
Strictly follow SOPs while complying with all CLIA/CAP regulations.
Any ad hoc tasks and assignment as needed.
Qualifications:
Project Specialist II;
M.S. in Biological Sciences with 1-2+ years of relevant experience or B.S in Biological Sciences with 2-4+ years of relevant experience required.
Highly proficient in Molecular Biology principles
Experience with Next Generation Sequencing platforms and project management tools
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Senior Project Specialist I;
Master's Degree in Life Sciences with 3-5+ years of related experience required.
Ph.D. Life Sciences preferred.
Project Management experience preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Highly proficient in Molecular Biology principles
Experience with Next Generation Sequencing platforms and project management tools
Knowledge of CLIA and CAP laboratory regulations.
