Job Description:
The Director of HSE oversees the Safety department and supervises Safety Officers. This position reports to the CEO and ownership.
Primary ResponsibilitiesThe HSE Director is responsible for corporate oversight of the following:
- Assists Corporate Risk Manager with commercial insurance program design and management
- HSE policy and procedure development and compliance
- Coordination and/or delivery of HSE training
- OSHA, DOT and other regulatory compliance
- Claims investigation, management and resolution
- Assists with risk management due diligence
- Management of field HSE personnel (T&D and Vegetation Management)
- Contractor MSA insurance requirements compliance
- Assist with contractor vetting
- Business development and customer/contractor relations
- Assessing field HSE staffing needs
- Accompany Customer Relations team members on utility customer meetings and industry events
Storm operations involve the following:
- Assignment of field HSE personnel for storm work
- Communication with field HSE personnel during storm work
- Coordination of field HSE activities with COO
- Management of the investigation and documentation of storm incidents/near-misses
- Direct the reporting and management of property damage and bodily injury claims
Qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Proactive and competent at problem solving
- Electric utility industry experience preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of HSE management experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred
