An NYC-based hedge fund with a structured finance and mortgage-related strategy is seeking a Vice President to join its operations team. This role involves a broad range of responsibilities, including the following:
Core Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive three-way reconciliations of cash balances and positions across internal systems, prime brokers, and fund administrators.
Manage trade processing for derivatives and a variety of fixed-income instruments, such as asset-backed securities (ABS), commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), mortgage-backed securities (MBS), corporate bonds, residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS), bank loans, and whole loans.
Partner with the operations team to oversee risk reporting, including monitoring counterparty exposures, managing position and sector limits, calculating leverage, handling collateral management, and determining cash reserve requirements.
Create detailed analyses and reports for senior management.
Support the team in monthly valuation processes and related activities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field, with a strong academic background.
Approximately five years of relevant experience, preferably in a hedge fund environment focusing on fixed income and middle-office operations.
Exceptional skills in accounting, analysis, and problem-solving.
