A steam turbine millwright plays a crucial role in the industrial landscape by performing the maintenance, and repair of steam turbines. These skilled professionals are work in various industrial settings, such as power plants, manufacturing facilities, and refineries. A desired candidate has strong mechanical aptitude and technical know-how, allowing them to navigate the intricate components of steam turbines with precision and efficiency. Turbine Millwrights work closely with Foreman and Mechanical Service Representatives to achieve these goals. You may be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our TDS vision and align with our organization's core values.
Responsibilities: • The primary responsibility of a steam turbine millwright is to assemble and install steam turbines according to precise specifications. For example, they must align shafts, bearings, and blades with accuracy to guarantee optimal performance. • Millwrights are tasked with conducting routine maintenance and inspections to identify any potential issues before they escalate. • Disassemble, reassemble, move and align, machinery and equipment using: hoists, cranes, chain falls, hand tools, power, pneumatic, hydraulic tools, and/or laser alignment equipment. • Perform material and machine inspections using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and torque wrenches. • Perform machining and welding operations for parts or special tool fabrication or repairs to field and shop equipment. • Load, and unload materials, tools, equipment and supplies and perform mechanical maintenance and repairs as needed. • Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments.
Requirements: • Previous experience as a steam turbine millwright is highly preferred. • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail are fundamental attributes for success in this role. • 2+ years previous experience in industrial maintenance, rotating machinery and/or industrial service equipment including various pumps, motors, fans, generators, and turbines. • Willing to work 12 hours on Day or Night Shift. • Nationwide travel is required
