Job Description:

The Maintenance & Reliability Engineer will manage and coordinate activities involved in the maintenance and operation of AMVAC's 24 x 7 chemical manufacturing sites. This position is located on-site at AMVAC Axis manufacturing plant.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Machine & Process Equipment Performance -Monitor, measure and improve the performance of process equipment and state-awareness of systems. Provides technical expertise to plant personnel on troubleshooting failures, repairs, and evaluating equipment reliability and design improvement to meet its intended or existing service conditions. Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of a life cycle asset management process for components, equipment and processes at all facilities. Establish reliability & work planning metrics/KPI's to monitor performance & improvement PM/CM ratio, MTBF, MTTR, etc.

System Improvement - Manage performance metrics to ensure that programs are being adequately executed.Develop and execute root cause failure analysis, corrective and preventive actions. Lead investigation of root-cause for repetitive damage and high failure rates. Provides training and facilitation on root cause failure analysis (RCA), failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) with maintenance and operations personnel. Capability to strategize and develop enterprise-wide Condition-based (CBM) / Predictive maintenance (PdM) strategies for critical equipment.

Team Collaboration - Works frequently with multi-disciplinary teams consisting of production & maintenance managers, process & project engineers, supervisors, operators and craftsmen, using RCM, FMEA and other methodologies. Provide daily technical support for maintenance and operations staff as needed. Establish trust and maintain open, positive relationships with core group of stakeholders.

Documentation - Develop standards and procedures as business and customer needs evolve. Responsible for end-to-end product quality and reliability with a focus on data collection and analysis. Determine best maintenance practices for specific pieces of equipment and/or equipment types. Ensures repairs, repair techniques, and equipment specific training are documented, made available and ensures standards are followed.

Continuous Improvement - Identify performance bottlenecks and recommend tuning improvements. Participate in annual and long-term reliability and capital planning. Identify and drive improvements in infrastructure and system reliability. Generate and utilize pareto charts to identify and analyze equipment failures to prioritize maintenance functions and equipment improvements.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Engineering from an accredited institution REQUIRED with a degree in Mechanical, Materials, or Chemical Engineering preferred.

Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in a chemical plant or manufacturing environment as a maintenance and reliability engineer
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) and experience participating in Mechanical integrity program is preferred
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) required
  • Familiarity with ASME codes and standards
  • Experience with an enterprise asset management system is preferred
  • Lean manufacturing and/or continuous improvement methodology experience is preferred
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and work on-site (36505)
  • Must pass post?offer drug test, background check and other appropriate tests as required

Travel Requirements: This position requires up to 25% travel within North America
