RINA is currently recruiting for a Bridge Engineering Manager to join its office in Chicago, IL within the North America Infrastructure & Mobility Division.
Mission
The Bridge Engineering Manager role at RINA, formerly Patrick Engineering, is crucial for overseeing the technical and structural aspects of bridge projects. As the Bridge Manager, you will lead a team of engineers and play a key role in ensuring the successful completion of various bridge projects.
Key Accountabilities
Lead and oversee bridge-related tasks and projects as the Task Leader, ensuring timely and efficient project delivery
Develop comprehensive plans, specifications, and estimates for a diverse range of bridge projects to meet client requirements
Conduct NBIS inspections, prepare detailed inspection reports, and perform live load rating to assess the structural integrity of bridges
Prepare high-quality technical reports and perform in-depth alternative analyses to optimize project outcomes
Provide construction phase services such as reviewing shop drawings, addressing contractor queries, and ensuring compliance with quality assurance and quality control procedures
Mentor and guide junior staff members, as well as oversee the work of CADD Technicians, to foster a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment
Contribute to project pursuits by developing technical approaches for Requests for Qualifications (RFQs) and actively participate in work planning and budget tracking
Take on additional responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in challenging situations
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field of study. Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred
10+ years of progressive experience in bridge design
Illinois S.E. and P.E. licenses required
Strong bridge technical experience with ability to complete projects on time and within budget
Experience with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and AASHTO Standard Specifications for Highway Bridges
Experience with IDOT and Illinois Tollway bridge projects
Experience with railroad bridges is preferred. Transit or bridge experience is a plus
Experience with new bridge projects and bridge rehabilitation projects
Excellent written/oral communication skills
Ability to work as part of multi-disciplinary project teams and independently manage tasks required to complete structural work in accordance with client requirements
Bridge and structure inspection experience preferred. Bridge Inspection Team Leader qualification preferred.
