Directs and manages undergraduate student services programs at the departmental level. Plans, designs, creates and administers an advising program for students that meets the college's long-term goal of creating an excellent education and extraordinary experience. Advises and supports undergraduate students to aid in timely and successful degree progress. Assesses student needs and identifies and refers students to resources. Develops and implements student programs to support retention and engagement. Other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
20% - Essential - Supervision: Manage the work of others, including hiring, training, developing, and monitoring the performance of departmental advisors and/or registration coordinators. Supports direct reports with troubleshooting of complex issues. Keeps current on the latest research, analysis methods, and national trends. Advocates to incorporate best practices to position the department at the forefront of advising
30% - Essential - Academic Progress: Advises and counsels students on academic progress. Advises and counsels students on University and departmental policies, major selection, engagement opportunities, and personal development to help students understand expectations and requirements. Identifies student issues and refers students to other campus resources as needed. Serves as a key resource to faculty and administrative officers regarding student information and policies.
40% - Essential - Program Coordination: Plans and organizes student centered initiatives, programs, or events (e.g. awards dinners, graduate receptions, prospective graduate student campus visits). Maintains schedule, manages logistics, recruits participants for initiatives, communicates and reports on program outcomes. Attends relevant meetings and serves as a liaison for the department.
10% - Essential - Service: Participates in departmental, College, and University wide initiatives related to advising and student success by providing staff support, knowledge, and expertise to ensure a successful program. Assists with College recruiting and engagement programming as needed.

Education: 1st Bachelor's Degree - Experience in student services programs. Work Experience: 0+ years
