Description: Growing food manufacturer in the Anaheim, CA area is seeking an R&D Chef to join their team and play a crucial role in the development of new and exciting food products. Responsibilities
Concept Development:
Brainstorm and develop new product concepts, considering market trends, consumer preferences, and company objectives.
Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify gaps and opportunities.
Translate consumer insights into innovative and marketable food products.
Product Development:
Develop and refine recipes, ensuring that they meet target cost, quality, and safety standards.
Conduct culinary trials and sensory evaluations to assess product acceptability and identify areas for improvement.
Collaborate with food scientists, technicians, and other cross-functional teams to ensure product feasibility and scalability.
Develop and maintain accurate product specifications and documentation.
Process Optimization:
Optimize production processes to ensure efficient and cost-effective manufacturing.
Troubleshoot production issues and implement solutions to improve product quality and yield.
Project Management:
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion within budget.
Effectively communicate project progress and challenges to stakeholders.
Stay Updated:
Keep abreast of the latest culinary trends, technologies, and industry best practices.
Attend industry events and conferences to network and gather new ideas.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, Food Science, or a related field preferred.
Experience: 5+ years of professional culinary experience, with at least 2 years in a food R&D environment.
Skills:
Culinary Expertise: Excellent cooking and baking skills, with a strong understanding of culinary techniques and flavor profiles.
Creativity and Innovation: Ability to think outside the box and develop unique and exciting food concepts.
