We are seeking a full-time Senior Payroll Specialist in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and transmitting bi-weekly, multi-state payroll using ADP Vantage software, verification of the setup and maintenance of associate records and batch inputs, and may focus solely on payroll processing or on time/attendance for SOX/Audit compliance.
Essential Functions
Manage, report, and process time/attendance records from Kronos software
Prepare, transmit, receive, load and submit bi-weekly payrolls and/or special payrolls as required using ADP software
Process journal entries and month end allocation for Finance
Perform set up, responses, and audit all garnishments and child support
Calculate final pay for termed associates and manual checks as required
Administer and set up associate and schedule information and perform attendance edits in Kronos system
Process and post batch payments to ADP software and record ESPP and stock option sales in ADP
Respond to questions and possibly prepare reports per department/company/outside third-party requests
Provide leadership, training and guidance to less experienced team members
Process time information recorded in Kronos and import to ADP (All functions of Kronos processing)
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or related field OR a minimum of 4 years relevant experience processing a multi-state payroll for a large number of associates
Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
Must possess a minimum of 3 years experience processing payroll using a payroll software system
Must possess intermediate proficient computer skills using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Must possess a demonstrated ability to work with sensitive information in a confidential manner with excellent time management and follow-up skills
Must possess a proven track record in performing roles which require being detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy
Must be positive, detail and quality oriented, organized, analytical, team oriented and a driven problem solver, multi-tasker, and self-starter with the ability to prioritize and lead in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor less experienced payroll team members
Desired Qualifications
Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)
Previous experience working in time/attendance software
FPC or CPP certification
