Location: Houston, TX
Reports to: Senior Preconstruction Manager
Salary: Up to $95k, depending on experience
About the Role:
We are seeking a Junior Estimator to join our team and support our Senior Preconstruction Managers. This role is ideal for someone with 2-3 years of experience in the field, particularly those with strong plan reading skills and general industry knowledge. If you have 1-2 years of experience and stand out with relevant skills, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing conceptual estimates for project pro forma budgets.
- Collaborate with project teams to forecast, monitor, and control project costs.
- Advise on alternative design and building systems to maintain budgets.
- Support the construction project management team during project buyouts.
- Help establish guaranteed maximum price (GMP) budgets.
- Lead quantity takeoff efforts and bid package preparation.
- Manage an estimating team member from our Global Support Services (GSS) in India.
- Maintain Master Exhibit B Scopes of Work and subcontractor databases.
- 2-3 years of experience in commercial estimating or related fields.
- Strong plan reading skills and general industry knowledge.
- Experience in multifamily/mixed-use and wood-framed structures is a plus.
- Background in project management is beneficial.
- Experience with large-scale projects valued at over $30,000,000.
