Job Description

The Sr. Director, Supply Chain for the Integrated Solutions division is responsible for managing the supply chain teams to effectively support the divisions internal and external customers. The Sr. Director is responsible for total ownership of the material planning, production planning, purchasing and subcontractor management. The Sr. Director, Supply Chain will lead a team of over 50 employees across multiple sites. The Sr. Director is directly responsible for developing a supply chain and material strategy, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and negotiating strategic supplier agreements that support the Integrated Solutions customer and business commitments. In addition, the Sr. Director will ensure all departmental and division objectives, initiatives, procedures and policies regarding suppliers, warehousing, and inventory levels are implemented and adhered to in order to achieve the divisions objectives. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Operations for the Integrated Solutions division.

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Develop and lead an effective supply chain strategy, to provide all material planning and purchasing, subcontractor and supplier management, strategic negotiations, and warehousing required for the operation of the division, ensuring optimum costs, terms and conditions, adherence to established quality standards, product specifications, schedules and Customer requirements and expectations.
  • Manage, delegate and track division supply chain responsibilities and teams, which include: product support negotiations, supplier performance monitoring and management, material planning, purchasing and expediting, warehousing and inventory management and controls, and production planning.
  • Assure accurate input and quotations for business proposals by providing complete review of bills of material from engineering, development of criteria for suppliers, selection of best suppliers for quotes, and negotiations for most favorable terms and conditions.  Also, provide all necessary back-up information that may be required depending on the type of proposal (e.g. FAR, DFAR, DoD, FAA, FDA, etc.).
  • In collaboration with Engineering, Operations, and Quality, continuously evaluate suppliers and optimize the supplier base through analyses of their capabilities, quality performance, delivery performance, price competitiveness, production rates and tooling availability.  Requires knowledge of numerous industries including electronics, optical, electro optical, casting, mechanical and specialized manufacturing to ensure that purchased items meet established quality standards and specifications set forth.
  • Evaluate and determine labor requirements and ensure the best utilization of personnel and work flow to meet proposal and production schedules.  Select, train, and develop subordinates.  Assign work for most efficient utilization of personnel, reviewing their activities to assure quality performance.  Make appropriate promotional and salary recommendations or terminations.
  • Prepare and monitor labor and expense budgets, ensuring cost effective operations.
  • Maintain effective liaison with suppliers, customer representatives, and subcontractors to provide efficient, timely and cost-effective procurement of materials.  Keep abreast of innovation and industry trends in supply chain and strategic sourcing.
  • Maintain effective liaison with all departments regarding market conditions, lead times, and shifts in pricing for materials and services in order to ensure most favorable company operations.
  • Drives initiatives and encourages programs to increase the rate of small business suppliers. Team with SC Compliance to source opportunities to all socio-economic business to meet government regulatory goals.
  • Lead transformational initiatives to optimize supply chain operations, ensuring alignment with business growth and sustainability goals
  • Direct entire site supply chain management process.
  • Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.


Qualifications

Education, Experience & License or Certification

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience 
  • 12+ years of relevant experience in Supply Chain Management within the Aerospace and Defense Industry that includes direct responsibility for negotiating long term, strategic agreements and managing supplier relations
  • Proven track record as a change agent, driving large-scale supply chain transformations and delivering measurable results.
  • Material estimating techniques
  • Familiarity with FAR / DFAR / SB regulations
  • Executive presence and presentation skills
  • Ability to motivate, inspire and lead others
  • Ability to determine priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong work ethic, output and commitment to quality outputs
  • Experience leading teams across multiple sites
  • Strong PC skills including Windows and Microsoft Office applications

Travel/Physical Requirements

  • Frequent travel required to suppliers and key customers
  • Team is geographically diverse over multiple sites and travel to those sites will be required
  • International travel required, mainly to Israel
  • Position location: Fort Worth, TX
