Volt is hiring for a Senior Back-End Service Engineer in Irvine, CA.
As a Senior Back-End Service Engineer you will:
• Design, develop, and modify our e-commerce services.
• Collaborate with multiple development teams ensuring our technical designs work with theirs.
• Monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot performance across critical environments.
• Provide technical input to our cross-discipline partners in product, design, and quality assurance.
• Support live services used by game teams and platform partners.
This is a full-time 6-month contract opportunity in Irvine, CA.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Minimum of 5 years' professional experience developing back-end services.
• Including experience with the Java programming language.
• Strong computer science fundamentals around algorithms, data structures, and common technical design patterns.
• Experience supporting live high concurrency services and security best practices.
• Experience with API design styles such as RPC, REST, and GraphQL.
• Experience building microservice and implementing n-tier architecture.
• Familiarity with software testing practices and motivations.
• Experience with relational databases like Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
Pluses
• Experience building services integrated by multiple teams within an organization.
• Familiarity with the Spring framework.
• Server infrastructure experience, especially with AWS: CodeDeploy, SQS, Lambdas.
• Experience with NoSQL solutions like MongoDB.
• Experience with front-end development: React/Node.js
Pay rate: $110.00 - $135.00 /hr Depending on Experience
*Pay rate offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
