The Senior Process Engineer is responsible for assisting the manufacturing operations in problem-solving, continuous process improvements, setting up and/or revising manufacturing testing equipment, and coordinating new program launches. This position also mentors and provides training to other production personnel.
This position reports to the Director of Facilities and Engineering and is part of the Process Engineering team located in Pensacola, Florida and will be an on-site role. At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.
What you will do:
Solve process and equipment problems, document causes, and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
Participate in Environment, Health, and Safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with policies during changes.
Identify and suggest improvements to reduce process variation, waste, downtime, and training gaps.
Investigate and resolve work-in-process issues using Lean Manufacturing and other methodologies.
Assist in transferring new products from development to production, ensuring smooth implementation.
Who you are:
Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, polymer science, or a related technical field
5+ years of experience in process, product, manufacturing, quality engineering, R&D, or product development.
Hands-on experience in manufacturing high-quality web-based polymeric materials like membranes, polymer films, polymeric fibers, or nonwoven synthetic fabrics.
Proficiency in analytical and statistical methods, with a contentious improvement background, i.e., Lean, Six Sigma, etc.
Experience in program/project management and leadership, capable of driving impactful business projects.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
Ability to travel 10% of the time to other Cytiva manufacturing locations in the US and Worldwide, as required.
Ability to access gauges and equipment 5-6 feet off the ground, lift and move 20-35 lb. parcels.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Knowledge of validation activities such as equipment and process qualifications (IQ, OQ, PQ).
High-level knowledge and skill to utilize a data-driven approach to assist in determining root cause and countermeasure.
Experience working in a medical device manufacturing environment.
