The Danaher Business System Leader (Continuous Improvement Leader) is responsible for driving a continuous improvement culture and coaching the implementation of Danaher Business System (DBS) tools with a hands-on approach to enhance operational efficiency (quality, delivery, and cost) across all manufacturing and supporting processes.


This associate will drive results and impact in the culture in the different site value streams by coaching and supporting Value Stream Managers and senior managers.



This position reports to the Senior Manager of Operations as part of the Danaher Business System job family located in New Brighton, Minnesota, and will be an on-site role.




In this role, you will have the opportunity to:



  • Support and coach the implementation of fundamental tools across all value streams to drive lean conversion.

  • Coach and mentor the value stream leaders in the use of DBS tools via both daily kaizen activity and kaizen events.

  • Support a DBS continuous improvement culture by facilitating trainings and organizing kaizen events.

  • Assess/develop site DBS competencies and manage/support Certified Practitioner (CP) development.

  • Ensure results of kaizen activity are sustained by driving site kaizen funnel management.




The essential requirements of the job include:



  • B.S. degree in engineering, supply chain, or related discipline.

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in operations/supply chain.

  • Proven track record of driving KPIs through lean conversion, with a demonstrated ability to identify, prioritize and eliminate waste to enable flow.

  • Proficiency in Kaizen Event Basics, and experience in leading or facilitating Kaizen Events with proof of sustaining results.

  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.




Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role



  • Ability to travel as needed ( 15%) to other sites, including international travel.

  • Ability to lift, move, or carry equipment up to 50lbs.




It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:



  • Operations leadership experience in a lean organization

  • Experience in a similar DBSL, Lean Partner, CI Leader, Operational Excellence partner, or an equivalent lean program role.

  • Certification status within fundamental tools such as Standard Work, Daily Management (Performance Boards, Visual Daily stand-up meetings), systematic problem solving, A3 reports.
