Within the UI Stead Family Department of Pediatrics, ARNP will provide direct patient care, including diagnostic and therapeutic services, to children and adolescents through a general pediatrics outpatient setting. In accordance with scope of practice as outlined by applicable state law, regulations, institutional policies and practice agreements, the position will independently conduct comprehensive medical, psychosocial, and developmental health history, physical assessments, establish diagnoses, and develop treatment plans as needed. This position will be required to work Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.
Duties to include:
• Obtains and documents a comprehensive medical, psychosocial, and developmental health history; performs and documents complete, system-focused, or symptom-specific physical examination, assessment, and plan of care.
• Plan, deliver, and evaluate health care for patients in general pediatric outpatient clinics.
• Arranges appropriate follow-up and consultation as needed in the outpatient setting.
• Orders, performs, interprets, and collects data using appropriate assessment techniques, relevant supporting diagnostic information and diagnostic procedures where indicated.
• Utilizes evidence-based, approved practice protocols in planning and implementing care.
• Provide education and serve as a resource for nursing staff, external agencies, community, and other health professionals.
• Participates in departmental educational conferences and clinical care meetings.
• Accurately and appropriately complete documentation of patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR) and other records for compliance, billing, and other regulatory standards.
• Acquire and maintain clinical competency and expertise in general pediatrics.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as requested/assigned.
