Job Description


The Arena Supervisor is part of the Schottenstein Center Operations team and will supervise and coordinate the General Operations part time labor force including daily and project janitorial work as well as supervising the labor force before, during and after all sporting and special events; performs and directs staff in a variety of event and meeting set up, maintenance, engineering, landscape, snow removal, and project work. Performs inspections, prepares task lists, and performs minor maintenance and repairs; assists in the hiring, training and evaluation of the part time staff. The position is also responsible for intermittent supervision of the Post Clean contractor and the Conversion Crew. This is a hands-on supervisor position and is expected to participate in the work listed above. This position requires the willingness and availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays. Hours will vary due to operational needs. This position may be asked to assist in events held at other Athletic or CASE facilities. Performs other duties as assigned.




Minimum Education Required


High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be required. Associate degree in relevant field may be preferred. 2 years of relevant experience required. 4-6 years of relevant experience preferred.




Additional Education Desired


Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience






Required Qualifications


Applicants should have 1-3 years supervisory experience, experience in custodial and facility maintenance and understand its relation to sport and special event management are desired. Knowledge of common tools used in custodial, carpentry, landscape and warehouse operations is desired. Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays required.
