Scope of Position
Under the direction of the Chief Clinical Officer or designee, supports the business, financial and medical staff operational functions of the OSUWMC Medical Staff Administration office.
Position Summary
This position plans, implements and directs all administrative, financial, strategic and operational activities for Medical Staff Administration and the Chief Clinical Officer (CCO). Ensures streamlined activities within the organization based on the priorities of the OSUWMC and, more specifically, the CCO. Assess inquiries directed to the CCO, determine the proper course of action and delegate to the appropriate individual to manage. Serves as Director of Medical Staff Administration, including oversight of its staff and building a strong team. Monitors ever-changing climate and initiatives to maintain the integrity of the strength and flexibility of the organization. Acts as an advisor and strategic partner to the CCO, Medical Center leaders, and Medical Administration team. Reports to the CCO. Key duties include: Overseeing the operations, staff and budget (operational and discretionary accounts) of the Medical Staff Administration office; oversees physician engagement; Overseeing procedural and decision-making protocols; Oversee implementation of policy technology; Acting on the CCO's direction, interfaces with external constituents; Supporting the CCO in administrative process improvement initiatives; Facilitating coordination with functional experts, including those from finance, legal, human resources, information systems and clinical services.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in healthcare-related field (masters preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
7 years of experience in healthcare.
Evidence of progressively responsible experience in healthcare and proven ability to build consensus work with complex groups and systems is desired.
Financial acumen to manage multiple budgets and expenses in a complex organization.
