Job Title:Director, Clinical Support & ResearchDepartment:Health System Shared Services | Financial Administration

Patient Financial Services is the department within the Health System's Finance and Revenue Cycle that has responsibility for Billing and Collection from Third Parties, Patients Financial Counseling, Cash Posting/Refunds, Customer Services and supporting both mainframe and PC based applications that support Patient Financial Service applications.





Engagement, Development, and Leadership:


Accountable for strategic planning, program development, labor management, and overall operational administration of assigned areas. Promotes the ongoing development of an engaged workforce within an environment of trust and respect. Ensures team members receive sufficient training for their assigned functions. Communicates timely and effectively with various levels of the organization. Includes team members in decisions that affect their work, as appropriate. Ensures that employees receive regular feedback on their performance in relation to expectations, and makes sure employees are supported in addressing their performance discrepancies. Ensures the fair and consistent application of organizational and departmental policies.





Quality Assurance, Compliance, and Continuous Improvement:


Ensures that all activities for assigned areas comply with government regulatory standards and third-party contractual agreements. Establishes standards of quality for core functions and ensures that processes are operating within established quality standards. Ensures that changes in process or system design are documented, tested, and deployed in a quality manner.








Required Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in Nursing and Masters in Business and/or Research related field. Masters in Nursing will be considered, but less preferable unless tied to some aspect of Research. Extensive administrative and leadership experience in a health-related program required. The ideal candidate will have experience in clinical and/or research, billing, and/or information systems experience in large academic medical center. Strong presentation/case logic skills required. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Access). Knowledge of health care revenue cycle, hospital scheduling system, hospital Patient Accounting system and hospital billing system desired.
