Job Summary
The Student Success Manager plays a key role in managing and representing NCS in cultivating regional and national partnerships, addressing complex challenges related to the development and implementation of ninth grade success initiatives in districts and schools. Serving as the primary point of contact for fostering partnerships with schools and districts nationwide, this role provides analytical leadership for planning, analysis, and communication with various audiences, including senior leadership within both the Network for College Success and the University of Chicago, as well as program staff. The Student Success Manager also serves as an integral member of the coaching managers team, liaising on behalf of NCS's regional and national work and coaches assigned partner schools and districts. This position reports to the Director of Coaching.
Responsibilities
Project Management (50%)
Develops and oversees NCS's national freshman success strategy for growing learning networks for high school and district educators.
Leads a team of national-facing coaches to deliver coherent, cohesive, and consistent coaching and professional learning services to support implementation of the NCS student success framework. •
Collaborates with data strategy team to ensure NCS has appropriate data sharing agreements and reports from national district and school partners.
Collaborates with the Director of Professional Learning to design and facilitate professional learning for national partners.
Collaborates with the Director of Coaching to develop resources and tools to assess the viability of school and district partnerships.
Collaborates with the Director of Professional Learning to ensure high quality professional learning delivery.
Provides Director of Coaching with data and other information as required for reporting to NCS funders.
Collaborates with NCS transformation managers as part of the NCS coaching managers team.
Coordinates services provided by NCS coaches to ensure efficient implementation and to avoid duplication or overlap of efforts in providing NCS services.
Builds collective efficacy and spreads and scales effective practices across NCS coaching teams.
Designs and facilitates professional learning for NCS coaches as assigned.
Establishes and implements a communications system that keeps coaches informed and focused on executing coaching priorities.
Analyzes and uses data to to evaluate, improve upon, and report on effectiveness, progress, and outcomes of NCS's supports to partner schools and districts.
Provides critical ecosystems data to enhance collective understanding and refinement of coaching structures as necessitated by data.
Partnership Cultivation and Management (30%)
Works with national partners to develop the capacity to ensure grade-level teams have access to actionable data in a user-friendly format to implement freshman success initiatives.
Partners with the Director of Professional Learning to secure and onboard national partners.
Maintains ongoing two-way communication with key partners and documents NCS's work with them. Represents NCS in UChicago and external facing presentations, meetings, and forums as assigned to cultivate relationships that advance the mission and vision of NCS.
School Coaching and Professional Development (20%) Coaches assigned school leaders and district teams toward improvement in the Success Teams Framework for School Improvement.
Translates research and data into practical steps with district and school leaders for school improvement efforts which focus on improving on-track rates, student course performance, and college and career readiness.
Under the direction of the Dean and in cooperation with school senior leadership, advises and develops strategies, programs, and relationships to advance the school and the University globally.
Uses deep knowledge of the University of Chicago and divisional vision and values to assess, evaluate, and recommends opportunities for collaboration with global partners.
Performs other related work as needed.
