Nurse Manager, Emergency Department
Exempt position, full time, days
JOB SUMMARY: In collaboration with the Assistant Vice President, Patient Services and the Senior Vice President, Patient Services /CNO (Nursing Leadership), assists him/her in the daily management of the unit, in the coordination of patient flow, in assuring appropriate staffing, budget compliance, and in the preparation of performance evaluations. Twenty-four (24) hour accountability and responsibility for designated unit.

Qualifications
Education & Training: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Currently licensed as an RN in the state of Maryland. Bachelors' degree in Nursing is required; Masters preferred. Certification in BCLS is required; ACLS certification is preferred. Nursing Administration or clinical certification preferred.
Work Orientation & Experience: The Nurse Manager has a minimum of three years of recent nursing experience in an acute care setting; including one (1) year Charge Nurse experience. Proven clinical competence and proficiency in the area of specialty is required.
Skills & Abilities: Ability to: a) prioritize work assignments and complete duties within prescribed time frames; b) establish and maintain positive working relationships and open lines of communication with a variety of people; c) make independent decisions; d) demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills; e) demonstrate the following skills: planning, decision-making, delegating and coaching; and f) manages effectively in a constantly-changing, high-pressure environment.

Compensation:
•Pay Range: $53.16/hr- $74.96/hr
