The McKone Lab is looking for a postdoctoral researcher to join our group at the University of Pittsburgh and contribute to ongoing research activities directed at applications of nanomaterials in advanced electrochemical technologies. Primary responsibilities for this position will be to perform synthesis, characterization, and reactivity benchmarking on novel catalysts for water electrolysis and fuel cell systems, and to coordinate with research partners to demonstrate the function of these catalysts in practical device assemblies that meet specified performance benchmarks.
We are especially interested in recent PhD graduates with experience in electrochemistry as well as air-free inorganic, organic, or nanomaterials synthesis. The initial appointment will be for six months and extendable based on the anticipated continuation of funding as we meet key research milestones. Further opportunities may be available to transition from an initial postdoctoral appointment into a senior research position. Our research group is fundamentally committed to enhancing diversity in the chemical sciences, and we welcome applications from women, members of minority groups, and individuals with disabilities.
Job Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related discipline. We seek candidates with experience in any of the following areas:
1. Air-free synthetic techniques
2. Nanomaterials synthesis and characterization
3. Electrochemical analysis
4. Solar photovoltaics or photo-electrochemistry
Interested candidates who apply are asked to furnish the following:
