Your Role: Veterinary Technician Leader -Product & Veterinary Support
The Product & Veterinary Support Veterinary Technician Leader role is instrumental in delivering gold standard customer support and product stewardship. As part of the Elanco Animal Health, US Customer Experience Team, and reporting to the Senior Director of P&VS, you will have the opportunity to coach and develop a team of veterinary technicians while leveraging veterinary expertise and clinical experience to provide solutions for a diverse customer base.
The purpose of the position is to serve as a co-leader of the P&VS veterinary technician team providing supervision and oversight for all technical and product support activities. Direct phone technical support will entail a portion of the position, along with oversight for scheduling of veterinary technician resources to provide coverage for customer contacts during normal business hours. Performance management of the veterinary technicians, including robust personnel development initiatives is required. Occasional field support for local, state, or national veterinary meetings may require travel on a limited basis. Other duties and projects associated with product support will be assigned, as needed.
Your Responsibilities:
Actively contribute to the P&VS leadership team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Manage veterinary technician recruitment, training, and daily operations, ensuring high performance.
Oversee product technical support and customer service, adhering to budget constraints while maintaining excellence.
Stay technically proficient in Elanco products and the veterinary technician role to support the team and escalate customer issues when needed.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, quality, and internal standards, including call monitoring and providing feedback for continuous improvement.
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
Education: Associate degree or at least 2 years of post-secondary education is required.
Experience: A minimum of 4 years of combined relevant experience in clinical practice and/or comparable industry roles. Experience in a veterinary industry technical or managing role is required.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):
Preference for documented Veterinary Technician licensure (RVT/LVT/CVT) in one or more US states; additional clinical experience or a degree in veterinary technology is a plus.
Previous supervisory experience in a regulated veterinary call center environment is highly preferred.
Strong leadership skills with qualifications derived from prior clinical or industry experience.
Ability to manage time effectively, delegate projects, and oversee diverse teams to meet goals.
Commitment to exceptional customer service, compliance with policies, and collaboration in cross-functional teams; Spanish language skills are a bonus.
Additional Information:
Travel: up to 10% including overnight travel to local, regional, or national company or veterinary meetings.
Limited after-hours/weekend telephone availability to support contract call center is required on a rotational basis.
