Pick up/deliver customer’s trucks as directed by scheduler
Visually inspecting units for physical damage and reporting such damage to customer prior to taking possession of the truck
Reporting damage or needed repairs on company vehicles to Scheduler and/or Manager
Exploring sales opportunities when appropriate by greeting and assisting customers with their needs, including directing them to the proper sales personnel
Promoting a positive company image by assisting with technical knowledge of truck operation upon delivery to dealership or customer
Performing spot checks of finished products before shipment, which includes looking at key areas of quality
Keeping interior/exterior of company vehicles clean
Other duties as assigned
Tools Used: Company and customer vehicles, office machines including computer, business operating system, printers, copiers, fax machines, cell phone, calculator, etc
Safety
Equipment: Safety glasses, safety shoes with metatarsal guards, earplugs, gloves, etc.
Essential Functions / Competency:
A valid Class B driver’s license is required for this position; must have a good driving record
Drive truck with capacity of less than 3 tons to transport and deliver according to the schedule
Maintain truck logs according to state and federal regulations
Operate trucks and forklift trucks for safe loading and unloading
Use fine motor skills to safely position blocks and straps, chains, or binders to secure load for transport
Have an eye for detail while cleaning, inspecting, and servicing vehicle.
Be a self-starter who is conscientious with full scope of the job, including customer satisfaction, focusing on time urgency issues.
Maintain effective communication between Scheduler or Manager; exhibit clear and precise oral and written communications skills to deal with people from different backgrounds.
Ability to deal effectively with customers and dealership salespeople, promoting a positive company image using strong communication skills and positive attitude.
Must follow safety procedures, including completing maintenance requests, communicating hazards to co-workers and management and wearing any appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) when in the shop and in vehicles.
Physical Demands
Prompt and reliable attendance. Overtime and odd hours may be required to meet customer needs.
Ability to manually move product and materials up to 50 lbs. through regular heavy physical exertion, including but not limited to lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling and bending.
Ability to sit for extended periods of time while driving.
