Computer World Services Corp. (CWS) is seeking a Network Infrastructure Lead to support the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) through its MissionNet Support Services contract. This contract will provide the 10th Communications Squadron (10 CS) with the necessary IT and telecommunications services to support USAFA's staff, faculty, and cadet personnel. The Network Infrastructure Lead will be responsible for managing and overseeing the core, distribution, boundary, and access layers of the multi-tenancy network. This role includes the operation, maintenance, and optimization of the network infrastructure, ensuring high uptime and optimal performance to support the mission of the Academy.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Lead the team in planning, integrating, operating, and maintaining the core, distribution, and access layers of the multi-tenancy network to ensure operational efficiency and service availability.
Manage network traffic shaping, VPN, VLAN, and Virtual Routing and Forwarding (VRF) instantiation and management across the network layers.
Plan and instantiate Communities of Interest (CoIs) to ensure network segmentation and logical separation of different network domains.
Ensure devices comply with the "Comply to Connect" (C2C) system requirements before network connection.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, providing Tier 3 and above support for infrastructure and services.
Manage and maintain DNS, DHCP, and IPAM equipment/services to ensure continuous network operation and optimal configuration.
Lead efforts to ensure the multitenancy network maintains a 98.5% uptime, including external connectivity, boundary protection, and wireless infrastructure.
Perform network monitoring, including packet capture, for forensic analysis, threat detection, and incident response.
Oversee the security of the network by ensuring compliance with DISA STIGs, IAVAs, TCNOs, and other cybersecurity directives.
Administer and maintain Security Incident and Event Monitoring (SIEM) systems to detect and respond to network security events.
Lead the configuration, operation, and maintenance of firewalls, VPN, DLP appliances, and other security tools across the network.
Automate threat identification and prevention across network infrastructures, including cloud environments such as AWS and Azure.
Ensure timely and effective patching of all network systems and devices, maintaining alignment with security protocols and orders.
Manage the wireless infrastructure, including troubleshooting, configuration, and performance optimization to ensure reliable network access.
Lead the development and execution of Network Cybersecurity Incident Response Plans, including coordination and post-incident analysis.
Provide guidance on network security best practices, credentialing, and access control for devices in the network environment.
Oversee network access layer switch operation and maintenance, ensuring smooth integration with the broader network architecture.
Monitor and ensure the continuous availability and performance of the wireless network, conducting regular maintenance and performance checks.
Perform event monitoring and data collection for proactive network management, ensuring detailed reports are generated for internal stakeholders and the government.
Education and Experience
A minimum of 5 years of experience managing large-scale wide-area networks, including switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, Wi-Fi, and routing protocols (OSPF and BGP).
Proven experience managing authentication servers, monitoring and reporting applications, and implementing network solutions.
Strong understanding of network security operations, including patch management, vulnerability assessments, and incident response.
Demonstrated experience leading teams in network infrastructure maintenance and troubleshooting, ensuring high levels of system availability and reliability.
Security Clearance
Must possess a current Secret (Tier 3) security clearance as a minimum.
Certifications
Required:
DoD 8570 IAT Level I (e.g., CompTIA Security+ or equivalent.
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Enterprise or higher.

Salary Range: $115,000.00 - $135,000.00
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
The posted range is appropriate for a typical candidate meeting, at a minimum, all the core requirements of the position.
