Job Description:

Computer World Services Corp. (CWS) is seeking experienced IT Professionals to support the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) through its MissionNet Support Services contract. This contract will support the 10th Communications Squadron (10 CS) in delivering Information Technology (IT) and telecommunications services to USAFA staff, faculty, and cadet personnel. IT Professionals will perform a variety of roles, including asset management, network infrastructure maintenance, cloud services, and cybersecurity, to ensure reliable and secure IT services across the Academy.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities


  • Provide general IT support services, including troubleshooting, issue resolution, and performing work order tracking and status updates.

  • Support the deployment and maintenance of new applications and systems as part of Tier 1 services.

  • Assist in the management of the technology roadmap, ensuring it aligns with future IT goals and evolving needs.

  • Perform change management and scheduled network maintenance to ensure minimal disruption to ongoing operations.

  • Track incidents, work orders, and issue notifications, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication with stakeholders.

  • Serve as the IT property custodian, ensuring proper tracking, management, and maintenance of all IT assets.

  • Operate and maintain Cloud Services, ensuring continuous and optimized performance.

  • Ensure cloud data services are secure, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals.

  • Support multi-tenancy network operations at the Core, Distribution, Boundary, and Access layers, ensuring uptime and efficient network performance.

  • Perform network security operations and ensure compliance with relevant security protocols and policies.

  • Administer and maintain wireless network controllers and services, troubleshooting any connectivity or performance issues.

  • Provide Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 support for IT infrastructure, addressing and resolving complex issues across the Academy network.

  • Assist in the configuration and optimization of network infrastructure, ensuring secure and efficient operation across all layers.

  • Monitor and maintain IT service interruptions and address any issues related to service disruptions.

  • Collaborate with team members and management to ensure the smooth integration of new technologies and network solutions.

  • Provide support and maintenance for IT services and solutions in line with operational needs and performance goals.

  • Monitor and assess data support requirements, ensuring smooth and efficient cloud operations and services.

  • Collaborate with other IT staff to provide technical expertise on ongoing and new IT projects.

  • Participate in network security operations, ensuring a proactive approach to IT security and risk management.



Education and Experience


  • Experience in IT support services with a strong background in cloud computing, networking, and system administration.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of network infrastructure services, including troubleshooting and managing multi-tenancy networks.

  • Proven experience in providing IT support and maintenance for a variety of technologies, including cloud services and wireless infrastructure.

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices, including incident response, threat detection, and prevention across IT systems.

  • This post is to collect the incumbent staff on the USAFA MNSS contract. When we post individual position descriptions, we will include position specific Education and Experience requirements.

Security Clearance

  • Must possess a current Secret (Tier 3) security clearance as a minimum.

Certifications

Required:

  • DoD 8570 IAT Level I (e.g., CompTIA Security+ or equivalent)

Desired:


  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate

  • CompTIA Network+

  • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)

Soft Skills


  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.

  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and report issues to stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, ensuring both autonomy and collaboration in achieving IT goals.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize issues to ensure timely completion of projects.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle time-sensitive tasks efficiently.

  • Proactive attitude, anticipating potential IT challenges and addressing them before they impact operations

Salary Ranges: $60,000.00 - $125,000.00

The offered rates will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

The posted range is appropriate for typical candidates meeting, at a minimum, all the core requirements of the various positions that will become available.
