Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and present training programs related the organization's Environmental Health & Safety Management System
Conduct detailed post incident and near miss investigations to determine root cause and contributing factors.
Coach and mentor all levels of the organization in EHS practices.
Assign, track and oversee the timely completion of safety related action items.
Support all areas of the Arthrex Environmental, Health and Safety Program to maintain compliance with applicable OSHA and EPA Regulations and established procedures.
Occasional overnight travel to support operations and attend training as necessary.
Must have flexible hours with occasional evening and weekend work.
May supervise others.
Industrial Hygiene Functions:
Identify, evaluate and control potential exposures that may cause harm to employees.
Perform detailed hazard analysis inclusive of air monitoring of complex chemical compounds found in both manufacturing and laboratory environments.
Manage occupational health programs including Thermoluminescient Dosimetry and Audiometric monitoring.
Perform and interpret detailed noise evaluations to ensure proper controls.
Act as the Laser Safety Officer for the Organization.
Conduct industrial ergonomic evaluations and establish programs to minimize musculoskeletal disorders.
Evaluate and monitor ventilation systems in manufacturing and laboratory settings.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree required in Engineering, Occupational Safety or related discipline
5 years of experience in occupational safety & health required
Experience in manufacturing or medical device industry is preferred
PE, CIH or CSP required, or to obtain within 18 months
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/ Specialized Courses and/or Training:
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Must maintain qualifications to serve at the OSHA HazMat Specialist Level.
Must complete First Aid, CPR and AED certification and be willing and capable to provide first aid to others.
Has the knowledge and skills necessary to interpret regulations, permits, and other technical data.
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:
Computer skills to include Microsoft Office.
Operation of specialty environmental monitoring devices & software.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to work in a team environment and independently to solve complex human or environmental issues.
Ability to read and interpret federal and state regulations.
