Your Role:
MilliporeSigma in St. Louis, MO is seeking an Industrial Chemical Support Technician at the Cherokee site. In this role you will provide support for the manufacturing of biological buffers according to established protocols. Job duties include:
Shift: Monday thru Friday: 6:00am - 2:30pm
Move materials, supplies and equipment in and out of department
Receive materials, supplies or equipment and place in proper storage locations
Transport materials, supplies or equipment as requested
Assist in maintaining adequate stock levels of materials and supplies available for use
Manage Manufacturing waste removal and requests waste transfers
Set-up, prepare and manufacture products according to current manufacturing procedures
Perform designated processing such as resin regeneration, analytical work, container filling, dryer unloading
Identify malfunctions when they exist. Utilize appropriate decision making to correct the malfunction.
Set up equipment to perform specific unit operations such as unloading trucks. Set up equipment prior to scheduled delivery whenever possible.
Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance. Submit work orders for repairs when appropriate.
Communicate and document status of processes, products, and equipment
Communicate status of tasks or operations by means such as labels, inventories, order requests or oral reports.
Maintain neat, legible, and current records of supplies or materials received, handled, etc.
Report deviations and any unusual situations to supervision
Comply with safety policies and quality systems
Follow procedures and safety policies at all times.
Don, doff, use, and clean personal protective equipment appropriately
Label all in-process equipment and containers properly
Follow policies and procedures to guarantee production groups and outside vendors receive information and materials conforming to their expectations in support of current quality systems
Routinely use all classes of chemicals
Physical Attributes:
Lifting, pushing, and/or pulling up to 80 lbs.
Wearing personal protective equipment including but not limited to; respirator, chemical resistant suit, gloves, goggles/glasses, etc.
Working outside in all weather conditions
Who You Are:
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree in a life science field with applicable experience
Industrial or lab experience
Knowledge of safe chemical handling methods
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal, mechanical, and organizational abilities.
Proficiency in basic computer operations.
Familiarity with ISO quality standards.
