JOB DESCRIPTION



The Senior Director of Loan and Payment Operations will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight to ensure the effective and compliant delivery of loan and payment services. This role focuses on driving operational excellence, enhancing productivity, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will oversee key processes, manage departmental performance, and lead initiatives to modernize and streamline workflows while collaborating across functions to achieve organizational goals.


What You'll Do:



Operational Leadership:

  • Develop and implement policies to enhance productivity, compliance, and customer service.
  • Oversee daily operations of loan and payment processing departments, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and timely resolution of escalated issues.
  • Monitor and manage loan and payment processing systems, identifying, and implementing areas for improvement.

Process Improvement:

  • Utilize Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma methodologies to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Lead automation and digitization initiatives to modernize workflows and reduce manual effort.

Collaboration and Reporting:

  • Partner with internal departments and associations to improve processes and ensure transparency.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on operational performance to senior leadership.

Team Development:

  • Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to staff, fostering professional growth and accountability.
  • Recognize and reward outstanding contributions while building a culture of excellence.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to loan and payment operations.
  • Oversee policy implementation and adherence to regulatory standards.

Budget Management:

  • Manage the department budget to ensure cost-effective operations.

What You'll Need:

  • Proven experience in loan and payment operations or commercial lending.
  • Strong leadership and change management skills, with the ability to communicate a clear vision and engage stakeholders.
  • Expertise in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma).
  • Deep knowledge of federal and state laws governing commercial lending.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.

Nice to Have:

  • Advance degree (MBA or equivalent) in business or related field.
  • Certifications in Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) or process improvement strategies.
  • Knowledge of credit risk analysis, underwriting principles, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with automation and digitization of financial operations.
