Inventory System Manager at University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma

Job Description:

The Inventory System Manager at the University of Oklahoma supervises the maintenance of an inventory system for University-owned assets, except real estate. This position is also responsible for receiving, storing, and disposing of excess assets. 



Daily tasks may include:



  • Initiates periodic physical inventory of University-owned assets to verify accuracy of records.

  • Ensures new University owned assets received are properly tagged and entered into the inventory system.

  • Evaluates and determines most appropriate method for disposal of excess equipment and furniture.

  • Assists in scheduling pick-up of surplus items form departments and colleges.

  • Supervises the day-to-day operation of equipment inventory.

  • Performs related duties as assigned to successfully fulfill the functions of the position.

Required Education: Bachelor's degree, AND:


12 months experience in material management which includes supervisor skills. 


Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 60 months of experience.



Skills:



  • Ability to build and manipulate spreadsheets.

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to read and understand written materials and instructions.

  • Must be detail oriented for accuracy of data and information.

  • Ability to complete projects in a timely manner.


Certifications: Valid Oklahoma Driver's License in order to drive University vehicles or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment. Forklift certification to move warehouse items.


Advertised Physical Requirements: Physical: Occasional standing, walking, pulling and lifting equipment. Ability to see to determine the condition of items. Communicate effectively and listen. Environmental: Work in a warehouse environment. Exposure to dust and dirt.


Supervision: Yes, 1-5 staff
