The Controls Engineer will be responsible for developing, supporting, testing and managing application software, which is used to monitor and control complex thermodynamic engineering machinery in applied systems, over its entire life-cycle. Fundamental skills and experience in reliable controls development for complex HVAC products, including a high level of appreciation for refrigeration systems and the fundamentals of thermos/fluid principles, are required for this position, as well mandatory knowledge of main controls technology and its relevant application.
This person will also be in charge to own the controls solution around new special projects, then document it and work as team player with other Controls Engineers to match the product and project needs, including being part of Software (SW) development team. This position also will provide solid configuration management to each part of the project and act according release plans, eventually provides software support to all company areas that requires it, such as Sales, Application Engineering, System Engineering, Procurement, Operation and Service.

Write detailed documentation for the unit and application operation by team and users
Sustaining existing software and applications
Provide active participation in specification development and related documentation
Establish a detailed program specification through discussion with Software architects and Program Managers.
Define and select new hardware components when needed
Provide training to customer engineers about special projects
Provide support:
to Application Engineering to define new features and new functionality as required by customer
to Laboratory and Offering team during customer tests
to Production at end of line tests
to Service Tech Support
on field in case of colocation projects, following the commissioning, the SAT and IST if needed
Help:
to Quality to define the not conformal controls parts
to Sales Team on the specific controls and monitoring discussion with customer
General:
Design controls applications based on defined requirements and specifications
Understand requirements for GUI/communication interface, networking and create specifications based on these requirements
Troubleshoot issues with already existing systems
Technical writing including Software Sequence of Operation (SOO) or technical specifications
Requirement Reviews - Participate in reviews and work with Systems Engineering or Internal Stakeholders to ensure proper implementation of features
Comply with the company safety procedures. Live the company culture of integrity and professional competence
Provide timely and detailed status updates
Quality - Ensure standards are maintained in a highly regulated, process driven environment
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree on a related field of study OR the equivalent combination of education and/or years of relevant work experience.
7+ years relevant project experience working with controls and automation equipment related to development, programming, debugging, as well as support and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of Chillers and HVAC applications, proven experience with most common compressor's technologies.
Knowledge of Programming Logic Controllers according to IEC 61131-3 standards or similar.
Ideally, basic knowledge of other programming and scripting languages (C/C++, C#, JavaScript, HTML), even academic.
Experience and skill in troubleshooting control system issues.
Experience in prototype start-up/troubleshooting and laboratory validation.
