Job Description:

The Data Innovations Sr. Product Manager’s primary responsibilities include owning the product(s) lifecycle from inception through to the execution of tactical activities needed to keep the product(s) growing and relevant in their respective marketplace. This role is expected to the expand product base and create a compelling vision that fits with the portfolio strategy. This role must develop meaningful connections across teams at DI, be approachable, and a trusted subject matter authority. To be successful, this role must have a clear understanding of the market needs, to help translate them and vision into a roadmap. Responsible for defining customer requirements and work closely with the software development team to ensure internal and external customer requirements are addressed.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Manage the product life cycle from inception through the completion of tactical activities and market/customer delivery

  • Perform market research on industry requirements for current and future products as well as align those requirements with the company’s product offerings

  • Collaborate with other stakeholders such as product marketing on the creation of positioning for your

  • Regularly communicate with customers, potential customers and Business partners on product needs and effectiveness of current solutions to ensure customer satisfaction

  • Work closely with development teams to define scope of work, clarify customer requirements for the team, establish acceptable time frames for completion and assist in managing the development process through to product completion

  • market analysis to user defined requirements for product enhancements

  • Educate internal stakeholders on market trends and desired product enhancements

  • Own the product launch plan including the tactical deliverables within the plan and manage the three-year product roadmap(s)

  • Own the P&L and corresponding actions that makes a compelling case for investment decisions into products

  • Work closely with Knowledge Management on customer-facing documentation, release notes and training documentation

  • Drive specific competitive intelligence initiatives to help sales teams develop strategies and tactics to reduce the threat

  • Implement strategies to track product use and impact on end users by influencing the Global Product Team


Requirements


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • 5+ years’ experience in product management

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and exercise cross-functional influence with strong inter-personal skills, translating between business and technical teams

  • Skilled at project management, able to build alliances and consensus to help drive adoption

  • Ability to create and deliver strong, clear communications to all stakeholders

  • Ability to see the big picture and be comfortable with a level of ambiguity

  • Demonstrated ability to present to large groups and lead complex discussions in an organized manner

  • Proven ability to conceptualize and correctly evaluate business and/or user requirements and needs to generate products from inception to delivery to customers

  • Ability to manage product launches and product enhancement processes

  • Ability to follow DI’s policies and procedures and system usage practices

  • Ability to meet travel requirements of up to 20%

  • Must comply with Company vaccination policy


Education and/or Experience


Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or medical science or related field, such as computer information systems and a minimum of 5 years’ experience related to product line management, preferably with software/hardware systems OR at a combination of education and related working experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired.


Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:


While performing duties of this job, the employee is predominately functioning in a sedentary light office position with high frequency of keyboarding, and computer use. This position may also have high travel requirements to customer sites; must be able to tolerate conditions associated with traveling and working in a laboratory setting.


Preferred skills and experience:


In addition to the above requirements, the ideal employee/candidate will have experience with the following:



  • Knowledge of laboratory information systems, analytical instrumentation, and automation systems

  • Clinical Lab experience and an understanding of the lab workflows

  • Agile Process Certification

  • Understanding of HIPAA, FDA, CE, and ISO regulations related to medical devices


Supervision Level


This person reports directly to the Director of Product Management.
