Your Next Career Opportunity – Structural Engineer I

Under the supervision of the Manager, Tower Maintenance, the Structural Engineer I has the responsibility evaluate the capacity and stability requirements related to installation, alterations, and maintenance of communications structures. 

What You Will Do – Primary Responsibilities

• Review Tower Inspection reports, tower repairs drawings and field related issues.


• Review shop drawings, structural drawings, calculations.


• Generate required engineering reports for review.


• Assist in the design and reviews of modifications for tower reinforcing, extensions, and foundations.


• Navigate tower analysis software and assist with performing analyses on projects of varying complexity using hand calculations and other accepted methods.


• Assist with the development of policies, procedures, standards, and code related activity.


• Review the condition of the tower structure and foundation. Perform analyses for existing and proposed configurations for structures including, but not limited to: towers, monopoles, and other antenna supporting structures.


• Convert structural analysis performed in other tower analysis software to TNX and TES tower software. Assist in matching results.


• Manage structural calculations performed by manufacturer/engineering firms in house and ensure they are up to date and accurate.


• Draw models in AutoCAD 2014 in 2D, as well as 3D.


• Other projects and duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need – Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field of study;
  • and 0-2 years of related experience in analysis and design of structures and their foundations in both unit systems (US customary and SI systems). Experience with modeling, design, and analysis of vertical structures.
  
  


• Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with AutoCAD 2014 preferred.


• Ability to analyze challenging engineering problems and develop effective solutions quickly.


• Collaborating effectively with other departments to complete tasks and projects.


• Organizing tasks and managing time efficiently to meet deadlines.


• Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with Finite Element Analysis or related Software preferred.


• Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with MATHCAD preferred.


• Demonstrated knowledge and intermediate proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite software including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook.


• Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Portuguese preferred.


• Professional Engineer (PE) or EIT License preferred.


• Other Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification preferred.
