Feed Coordinator at Circle S Ranch in Richburg, South Carolina

Job Description:

This position is responsible for ordering feed to supply farms on a daily basis. This is a full-time (40 hours per week) non-exempt position.

Reporting Relationships

This position reports directly to the Assistant Mill Manager. There are no supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Figure feed requirements for all growers.


• Generate feed orders for truck drivers.


• Take inventories from growers calling in on Monday and Thursday.


• Schedule feed pick-up for each feed truck.


• Submit credits and feed tickets.


• Weekend on call responsibilities.


• Maintain good working relationship with fellow employee and external customers.


• Coordinating urgent production requirements.


• Coordinating urgent feed delivery requirements.


• Ability to recognize ongoing and changing needs of the mill, drivers and farms and responding appropriately and proactively.


• Assist in cleaning mill as needed.


• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent


• Excellent computer skills


• Very strong math skills


• Neat handwriting; good record-keeping


• Excellent communication skills

Physical Abilities

• Position involves light to medium walking, climbing stairs and ladders, standing, stooping, shoveling and sweeping, carrying and lifting of light to medium-weight materials (up to 25 pounds).


• Requires visual acuity to read numbers, letters, and images; depth perception; hand and finger dexterity to use a keyboard at an advanced rate, and hand-eye coordination.


• Requires speaking and hearing ability sufficient to hear over phone and carry on routine conversations.

Work Environment

• Office environment within the feed mill.
