Position Overview The Estimating Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the estimation process for mechanical construction projects. This position is responsible for leading the estimating team, developing accurate bid packages, and ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and strategic management goals.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the estimating team in preparing accurate mechanical construction estimates.
Coordinate project planning and oversee the development of bid packages.
Supervise and provide technical leadership to team members throughout the estimating process.
Ensure compliance with corporate objectives and contribute to strategic management initiatives.
Analyze labor factors, material cost trends, and market pricing to inform estimates.
Utilize estimating software, including AutoBid Integration and SysQue, for accurate data validation.
Engage in on-site involvement to assess project requirements and provide accurate estimates.
Foster strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams to enhance collaboration.
Make informed decisions based on analytical skills and market awareness to improve estimating processes.
Manage project deadlines and oversee reporting on estimating activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of Mechanical Estimating.
Proven experience as an Estimating Manager or Chief Estimator in mechanical contracting.
Strong leadership skills with a track record of team management and development.
Expertise in estimating software and tools related to mechanical systems and plumbing.
Demonstrated ability to analyze data and market trends to inform bidding strategies.
Excellent problem-solving skills and operational expertise in construction estimating.
Strong relationship-building and decision-making capabilities.
Effective time management skills and ability to meet critical deadlines.
