Summary: The Controller is responsible for ensuring the accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions, both internally and externally. This includes managing the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and benchmarking data for departmental and corporate efficiencies. The role ensures that all finance activities are accurate, timely, and comply with established legal, regulatory, and quality standards. Additionally, the Senior Controller oversees the finance department staff and supports senior management's objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee accounts payable and receivable, including daily customer billings, vendor invoices, posting journal entries, maintaining reconciliations, and organizing paperwork.
Manage the monthly and year-end financial close processes, including account analysis, reconciliations, preparing journal entries, and balancing intercompany accounts.
Maintain the customer database of tax exemption forms within the sales tax program (Avalara) and ensure compliance with state sales tax requirements.
Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and operational strategies for process and system changes.
Direct and oversee the finance administrative staff in alignment with the objectives of the CEO, President, and CFO.
Handle ad hoc projects as needed.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in accounting.
Minimum of 4 years of accounting/finance experience.
CPA preferred but not required.
Managerial experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
Familiarity with the Sage ERP system is highly desirable.
Experience with state and local tax forms and filings is preferred.
