GEE Group is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our client's team. This role is ideal for a hands-on problem solver with a passion for optimizing manufacturing processes, implementing new equipment, and driving continuous improvement in an automotive production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development of new equipment from design and specification approval to fabrication, installation, and troubleshooting.
Evaluate and integrate manufacturing equipment, machinery, and tooling for automotive parts production.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
Collaborate with vendors, oversee project performance, and manage sourcing activities-including international travel.
Oversee the implementation of complex equipment, including robotics, PC, and PLC systems.
Conduct root cause analysis to resolve production challenges and improve operations.
Balance hands-on implementation (40%) with project/vendor management (50%) and additional responsibilities (10%).
Perform process FMEA studies to incorporate necessary countermeasures into equipment specifications.
Provide capacity studies and cost evaluations for financial planning and quoting.
Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to ensure a safe and efficient production environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and industry-standard software applications.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
Advanced knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
Ability to travel, including internationally, for vendor management and sourcing activities.
