The Hilton Anaheim is looking for its next Maintenance 1st Class, Laundry Mechanic to join their wonderful Engineering team! A Maintenance 1st Class, Laundry Mechanicis responsible for maintaining andrepairing all laundry and auxiliary equipment throughout the facility as well as to ensure safe and proper operation. The 1,574 room Hilton Anaheim is newly renovated and located in the heart of California's famous Orange County, adjacent to the Anaheim Convention Center and steps from the Disneyland Resort.

Ideal candidate for this role will possess:

• Availability to work a flexible schedule that would includeovernights, weekends, and holidays as well as on call is required.

• Ability to write and communicate basic English is essential to the role.

• At least 2 years previous Laundry Operations Experience and/or have worked with industrial laundry equipment.

Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday 11:30pm to 8am.

Hourly range for this role is $34.90 to $43.62.

What will I be doing?

As a 1st Class Operating Engineer/ Laundry Mechanic, you would be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation the hotel laundry equipment. some of your duties will be:


  • Repair, maintain and troubleshoot all laundry equipment in accordance with operations manuals and manufacturers maintenance instructions, wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all laundry equipment including disassembling, replacing, cleaning and repairing equipment using test equipment such as volt-OHM meter, amprobe and all required hand and power tools.
  • Maintain and repair all related plumbing to include steam, water, gas, pneumatic links, traps and valves, working in confined spaces, awkward positions, wet and unsanitary conditions is required. Monitor and maintain all chemical injection equipment.

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the hotel.

Monitor operation and condition of laundry equipment.

Maintain and document by use of logs preventive maintenance and repairs performed.

Evaluate equipment performance and submit recommendations of alterations and changes to improve equipment effectiveness.

Fill out and process requisitions for parts and maintain necessary stock for repairs and lubrications.

Due to the nature of the business, the laundry mechanic may be required to do other duties and special projects as assigned by the supervisor such as assisting other trades.

  • Knowledge of general safe operating procedures while performing repairs to equipment.

  • Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling and walking significant distances throughout the facility.
  • Skilled in the use of related instruments and tools, including volt-OHM meter, amprobe, hand tools and small power tools in order to perform the functions of the job in a safe and efficient manner.
