Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Full time position available!
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide patient treatment as directed by the Occupational Therapist (OT) and in accordance with the physician's treatment plan.
- Document daily treatment notes, weekly progress notes, and required evaluations per OT Board regulations and payer requirements.
- Assist the nursing department in training Restorative Aides.
- Communicate patient progress, challenges, and plans with supervisors and healthcare team members.
- Participate in in-service training programs for facility staff.
- Educate patients, families, and nursing staff on maintenance programs and caregiver training for discharge preparation.
- Assist with discharge planning and ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the treatment area.
- Report any equipment issues to ensure proper maintenance.
- Foster positive and professional relationships with patients, families, staff, and colleagues.
Qualifications:

Education & Experience: Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in the state.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in electronic documentation systems (e.g., Casamba, PointClickCare).

Language Skills: Ability to read technical procedures, policies, and effectively communicate with managers, coworkers, and families.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply fractions, percentages, and proportions in practical applications.

Reasoning Ability: Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow written, oral, and visual instructions.
Certifications & Licensure:
- Active and good-standing Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the state.
- Compliance with continuing education requirements per state regulations.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
- Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
- Ability to lift/exert over 100 lbs occasionally, 50 lbs frequently, and 20 lbs constantly.
- Requires full range of vision, including depth perception and color differentiation.
Work Environment:
- Low to moderate noise levels.
