Technical Regulatory Compliance Senior Technologist Mossville, IL or Lafayette, IN
Role Summary: Caterpillar is looking to add a Technical Regulatory Compliance Senior Technologist to join our Large Power Systems Division (LPSD) who will support product regulatory compliance programs through various activities that assist in managing compliance risk and ensuring compliance with applicable product regulatory requirements for intended markets. This includes but is not limited to the following programs; Replacement Engine Tracking, Engine Exemption Management, Production Volume reporting, Defect Reporting, and AB&T reporting.
What you will do (includes but not limited to):
Understand and stay current on product regulatory requirements and understand application of same to Caterpillar products.
Follow and utilize established processes and tools to collect, assess, and manage information in support of product certification and compliance.
Identify continuous improvement opportunities for processes and tools used to manage product regulatory compliance risks.
Collaborate with product groups, design control and operations to ensure the development, validation and production of product that meets applicable product regulatory requirements.
Administer the Replacement Engine Tracking Tool and create reports to send to regulatory agencies
Manage the Engine Exemption Management tool (EEM) to approve, track, and record requests for engine exemptions
Data mine annual production volumes specific to various regulated markets and create reports to submit to regulatory agencies.
Investigate and analyze CPI issues for potential emissions related defects and reporting to regulatory agencies.
Tabulate emissions credits annually and report AB&T activity to regulatory agencies.
Education Requirement:
2 year degree engineering technology or equivalent discipline.

Product Development Best Practices: Basic Understanding: Knowledge of product development methods and ability to research, identify and apply formal disciplines and best practices for improving the quality and costs related to product development.
Risk Management: Basic Understanding: Knowledge of processes, tools and techniques for assessing and controlling an organization's exposure to risks of various kinds; ability to apply knowledge of risk management appropriately to diverse situations.
Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Working Knowledge: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Basic Understanding: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Top Candidates will also have:
Bachelor's degree engineering technology or equivalent discipline.
Experience with CPI/NPI processes
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point
Basic knowledge of authoring process document and standard work instructions.

This position is located in Mossville, IL or Lafayette, IN.
Less than 10% travel
This position is currently a hybrid in-office work model, requiring a 3-day weekly office presence onsite office and remote work for the remaining days. However, work arrangements may be adjusted at any time based on business needs.
