To assure the effective utilization of analytical processes and resources to facilitate consistent, accurate and rapid analyses of in-process materials, finished products and shipments, while maintaining the highest degree of HSE. The key deliverables are managing the lab instruments and testing reagents for raw material, manufacturing, finished product and customer specification processes; managing and developing analytical methods and analyses; identification and maintenance of instrumentation needed to support site needs; supporting implementation of analysis for new products; driving continual improvement of quality management systems (ISO and SQF); and supporting the development of the personnel assigned to the QC Laboratory.
Essential Functions
Consistently demonstrate full compliance with all regulatory requirements, including but not limited to OSHA, EPA, DOT, SQF, etc. and all Monument HSE rules, policies, practices and procedures.
Fully support and champion a HSE Culture that enables the sustained achievement of exceptional HSE performance by consistently participating in the development and implementation of all HSE initiatives and by consistently holding employees accountable for fulfilling their individual HSE responsibilities.
Audit and edit lab related documents (i.e. ISO, SQF, etc.)
Generate, interpret and disseminate Statistical Quality Control data to Manufacturing, Technical Service and customers.
Manage QC Lab records (USP documentation, equipment calibration, etc.)
Provide support to Manufacturing, Technical Service and customers regarding analytical methods and analyses to resolve inquiries
Develop new inspection methods and improve efficiency of existing methods including implementation and training personnel.
Assist the Pilot Plant/R&D during new product development
Implementation of new instrumentation and equipment
Identify instruments/equipment needed to efficiently provide analyses.
Identify, stock, and manage expiration dates of critical spare parts and supplies.
Assure lab is equipped with critical level of supplies and instrumentation.
Responsible for reliability of instrumentation including but not limited to management of PM's, troubleshooting, and calibration reviews (GC, GC headspace, LC, GPC, TOC, NIR, AA (flame & graphite), ICP, FTIR, Brookfield & Kinematic Viscosity, Karl Fisher, etc.)
Reinforce training and capability of Quality Control Technicians to properly perform methods according to best lab practices.
Troubleshoot and correct any analytical deficiencies (instrument, method, etc.) in a timely manner.
Design and execute activities to measure and improve precision and accuracy of analyses (GageR+R/RoundRobin)
Purchase supplies and equipment to maintain QC Lab operations.
Provide leadership on technical and personnel issues.
Ensure that the QC Lab conforms to current ISO, SQF and FDA Standards; drive continual improvement for quality management systems
Actively participate in the implementation of all Human Resources processes and initiatives.

Education Qualifications
Required Bachelor's Degree Chemistry, Biology or equivalent science
Preferred Master's Degree Chemistry, Biology or equivalent science
Experience Qualifications
Required 5+ years related work experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills and Abilities
Experience with various lab instrument maintenance and troubleshooting preferred
Good organization, time management, verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated analytical and project management skills
demonstrated ability to master specific product/process and equipment knowledge
Proficient in MS Office and SAP
