About the role

  • Forterra is seeking an AI Integration Engineer to spearhead the deployment of generative AI and automation tools to optimize Systems and Test Engineering, Safety Engineering, Software Development, and Project/Product Management workflows. The AI Integration Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing AI-driven solutions that enhance and streamline our engineering and operational processes. This role requires deep expertise in AI, automation, and engineering workflows, ensuring that our teams leverage generative AI for efficiency, accuracy, and innovation.

What you"ll do

  • Engineering Process Automation:
  • Implement AI-driven automation for Systems and Test Engineering workflows by optimizing requirement management, validation, and verification.
  • Product Management Enhancement:
  • Utilize generative AI to create and refine user journeys, ensuring alignment with customer needs and business goals.
  • Develop automated workflows that translate user journeys into detailed product specifications, feeding directly into the system engineering process.
  • Software Development & CI/CD Automation:
  • Integrate AI into CI/CD pipelines to streamline software testing, code generation, and deployment.
  • Enhance software development workflows with AI-assisted code review, bug detection, and optimization.
  • Safety Engineering Optimization:
  • Leverage AI to automate and enhance Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).
  • Develop AI-assisted tools for safety requirement generation and compliance monitoring.
  • AI Workflow Automation & Implementation:
  • Build and deploy AI-powered workflows that enhance cross-functional collaboration between engineering, safety, software, and product teams.
  • Integrate AI tools with existing enterprise systems, ensuring seamless adoption and interoperability.
  • Ensure AI-driven solutions align with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and security best practices.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of Systems and Test Engineering, Safety Engineering, and/or Software Development.
  • Expertise in AI/ML frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab).
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.).
  • Familiarity with enterprise AI integration tools and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with NLP and generative AI tools for technical documentation and product development.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and safety standards (ISO 26262, DO-178C, IEC 61508).
  • Experience with AI-driven analytics for engineering and business insights

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in AI integration, automation, or engineering process optimization.


US Salary Range
$130,000—$250,000

The salary range for this role is an estimate and is based on a wide variety of compensation factors. The salary offered to candidates will vary based on a variety of factors including (but not limited to) relevant work experience, education, specialized training, critical expertise, training, and more. Equity in Forterra is included in most of our full-time, high-demand roles and is therefore considered part of Forterra's overall compensation package. In addition to base salary and equity, Forterra offers competitive benefits for full-time employees including:
