Job Description:
We are seeking a Business Development Manager for Plastic Industrial Applications to identify, evaluate and secure new business in North America for Industrial market segment with focus on Asahi Kasei's Engineering Plastic portfolio. Targeting OEM & Tier customers, you will be driving business closure through technical specification of Asahi Kasei's materials and ensuring corporate growth objectives are met. You will work closely with internal and external parties to ensure alignment and execution of growth objectives for targeted customers, markets and applications.

Job Tasks
Develop multifaceted relationship with customer in the following disciplines; purchasing, product engineering, material engineering, and manufacturing/molders
Understand the Specification approval Process at Various OEMs/Tiers and position Asahi Kasei products as preferred products for strategic applications
Drive new business growth by developing a strong grasp of customer programs and all technical details related to application
Develop full understanding of Asahi Engineering Plastics products
Participate and conduct technical and marketing presentations at customers meetings
Conduct and maintain understanding of competitive landscape, key trends shift, customer needs and regulatory developments that may impact projects/opportunity landscape
Participate in in key exhibitions, seminars or conferences to expand Asahi's network, generate leads and promote product offerings
Provide full leadership to assess customer product needs and relate them to Asahi product development team
Balance short, medium term and long term (New Business Closes) objectives effectively within segment to deliver real-time and year over year growth
Promotes a safe work environment for self and others
Takes the initiative to resolve issues before they become problems
Ensure that all activities are completed in compliance with lean, ethical and regulatory requirements, including QS 9000 / ISO 9001 / TS 16949 / A2LA
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Licensures, and Certifications)
Bachelor's or Master's in plastics, chemical and mechanical engineering or business with strong technical skills in engineering plastics
5-10 years of engineering plastics business development experience with industrial markets like Agricultural, Recreational vehicles, Heavy machinery, Electrical & Electronics, Oil & Gas etc.
